Patient Flow Challenges Contributing to Provider Burnout

It seems not a day goes by without reporting on the clinician workforce shortages within hospitals and health systems, something often attributed to the burnout they feel working in these high-stress environments during the Covid-19 pandemic. The root causes, however, are much older.
